Amazon Sword 'Compacta' (Echinodorus bleheri 'compacta') is a small sword plant perfect for tanks a regular Amazon Sword would outgrow! Its broad, vibrant green leaves form an attractive rosette that adds lush texture and structure to planted aquariums. Its manageable growth makes it an excellent choice for midground placement, smaller aquariums, or anywhere a full-size Amazon Sword would become too large.

Lighting: Low to moderate lighting is sufficient; moderate lighting encourages fuller, healthier growth
CO₂ & Fertilization: CO₂ is not required but can encourage faster, stronger growth; as a heavy root feeder, root tabs or a nutrient-rich substrate are recommended
Temperature: Thrives in 72–82°F (22–28°C)
Water Conditions: Adaptable to a wide range of aquarium conditions and generally performs well in slightly acidic to neutral water
Planting & Growth: Plant directly into the substrate while keeping the crown slightly above the substrate surface; allow enough surrounding space for the rosette to develop
Maintenance: Remove older or damaged outer leaves near the base as needed; established plants may produce runners or daughter plants that can be separated and replanted
