Mint Charlie (Clinopodium brownei), sometimes called Creeping Charlie, is a unique aquatic plant often used in aquariums and paludariums for its round, bright green leaves and fast-growing, creeping habit. While it’s not a true aquatic plant in the wild, it adapts well to submerged conditions in aquariums, making it a great choice for aquarists looking for something unusual. Its trailing growth pattern makes it excellent for midground or background placement, as well as for emersed growth in riparium setups.

Key Features

· Distinct Round Leaves: Bright green foliage stands out among traditional aquatic plants.

· Creeping Growth Habit: Can form dense bushes or trailing stems across hardscape.

· Versatile Usage: Works submerged in aquariums, or emersed in paludariums and ripariums.

· Fast-Growing: Fills in spaces quickly with proper care.

· Great for Aquascaping: Adds a wild, natural look with a unique leaf shape.

Care Tips

· Lighting: Prefers moderate to high lighting for compact, healthy growth.

· CO₂ & Fertilization: CO₂ is not required. Liquid fertilization supports vibrant foliage.

· Temperature: Thrives in 68–82°F (20–28°C).

· Water Conditions: Best in a pH range of 6.0–7.5 with soft to moderately hard water.

· Planting & Maintenance: Can be planted in substrate or attached to hardscape; trim regularly to prevent legginess and encourage bushy growth.

· Growth Rate: Moderate to fast depending on tank conditions.
