The Pea Puffer, also known as the Dwarf Puffer or Indian Dwarf Puffer, is one of the smallest freshwater pufferfish in the world, but what it lacks in size, it makes up for in personality! Native to India, these tiny predators are known for their curious behavior, expressive eyes, and beautiful yellow-green coloration with dark spots. Unlike many other pufferfish, Pea Puffers are completely freshwater and thrive in heavily planted aquariums with plenty of hiding spots. Their inquisitive nature and unique hunting behavior make them a fascinating species for aquarists looking for something different.
